Whoever has written the following clause and published by
“Divehi Observer”
(The anti Maldivian Government Internet newspaper) I can
guarantee the
readers of DO or otherwise it was the most generative
prevarication someone
can formulate anywhere in the world since I know that
President Maumoon was
doing his duty as the President at his Office when tsunami
hit the Maldives
islands on the 26th of this month. By the way he was one
of the Maldivian’s
who was very concerned when the Islands felt the
earthquake 6.30am on that
morning and trying to find the information about the
incident. I swear upon
God that my above statement is a true statement and the
following baseless
clause was a delusive one. I think this is not the right
time even for DO to
advocate its propaganda machine. This kind of idiotic
action evidences the
incredibility of the DO. =A
patriotic Maldivian=
“Gayyoom was well aware of the
tsunami threat on Sunday morning, according
to a Dhivehi article published by DO on. He and his family
were on board
their luxury yacht when the waves hit the capital. The NSS
coastguard
vessels and other high speed boats from the presidential
fleet were all
taken out of the harbour without delay. The NSS marched
out of the Fort as
the waves hit, and they blocked the road on both sides of
the president's
office. Gayyoom came back to Male' two hours later, after
there was no more
threat of tsunamis, and drove a few hundred metres around
Male' in a
gleaming motorcade of expensive four-wheel drive vehicles.
All warnings of
the possible tsunami were suppressed in the Gayyoom-controlled
Maldives
media. DO reported the earthquake, but this website is
blocked in Maldives
by Gayyoom.”
